Celebrating World Wetlands Day at Nirmala Wetland Conservation Project (Gavier Lake) on 2nd FEB 2026

Nature Club Surat marked World Wetlands Day at the Nirmala Wetland Conservation Project (Gavier Lake) with a meaningful morning spent alongside Sarvajanik University’s Nature Club Volunteers as well as MCA department, SCET, SU Students, total (80+ students), Nature Club Surat volunteers, and the Gujarat Forest Department officers.

The gathering highlighted the importance of wetlands in supporting biodiversity, water security, and urban ecological balance, while reaffirming a shared commitment to their long-term protection.

Nature Club Surat extends heartfelt thanks to its volunteers, partners, and the citizens of Surat for their continued support in protecting and nurturing Gavier Lake over the past 20 years. This wetland remains a cherished ecological treasure for the city.
