Nature Club Surat has one of the most active wings of SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). With more than 50 volunteers in snake rescue network and over 10 volunteers in animal rescue, we are fairly well known in Surat. Only last year, we rescued more than 400 snakes. More people in Surat and surrounding areas know us primarily due to our snake rescue team. June 2008 Various calls are attended by our volunteers and many birds, animals and mammals are rescued. We have attended a total of 102 calls during the month of June of which 26 are birds, 72 reptiles and 04 mammals.
January, February and March 2008 We have attended total 693 calls during January, February and March 2008. In this three month more calls were attended in January month, mostly of birds. Because of Kite flying festival many birds were injured at that time. This time we have divided our rescue team in different zones. All zones are equipped with first aid kit (provided by Shree Sahastrafana Parshvanath Public Charitable Trust, Surat), Mountaineering equipments ect.
