At DANDELI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, KARNATAKA

Nestled Away in the Wild green forest ad midst breathtaking Valleys in the South Indian State of Karnataka lies Dandeli – Wild Life Sanctuary. A treasure trove of delights offering Nature’s bounty at its environs, providing a never before combination of unfolds in its tranquility and excitement at its wildest.

            The Commonly seen wildlife spices are Elephant, Gaur, Wild Boar, Sambar, Spotted Dear, Mouse Dear, Barking Dear, Mongoose, Porcupine, Wild Dog, Giant Squirrel, Flying Squirrel, Jackal, Common Langur etc. The less seen wildlife spices are Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, etc.

The Main bird spices include Magpie Robin, Blue Headed Ground Thrush, Golden Back Woodpecker, Indian Cuckoo, Crested Serpent Eagle, Pied Hornbill, Malabar Grey Hornbill and a large verity of other birds.

The rapids of the river Kali, range from thrilling rough & tumble drops to gentle enthralling range of long water stretches, offering the scope for keen rafter to a gentle family raft ride.

Evening ride in a boat, down the River Kali is memorable. The leisurely ride of the brat allows you to watch hornbill returning to nest in tall tress on river banks, observe darters drying their plumes on deadwood entrenched in the river & admire egrets flying against an orange sky…..

Things to carry: Necessary clothes, pants, preferably jeans, Sweater/jacket extra pair of clothes, Swim wear and towel Hunter/Sport shoes, Water bottle, Toilet accessories, Note book, pen, torch.

Note: During to & fro Train Journey food will not be provided. Binoculars and Camera may be brought at your own risk. Walkman/ I pod, smoking chewing of pan-masala and alcoholic drinks strictly prohibited. Nature Club and its office bearers will not be responsible for any accident or mishap during to & fro journey or at the camp. Best care of the participants will be taken.
