Rescue of Crocodile From Hazira Industrial Area

U will be happy to know that Nature Club Surat have rescued a big size wild Crocodile from the Hazira industrial and campus of Kribhco on 4th September 2007, it was spotted by the employee of the Kribhco when they  were doing their annual maintenance cleaning of water treatment plant, it was a underground tank with a protection wall of almost 2ft, tank was almost 20ft wide 50ft long and 15ft deep with the water/mud/sand of almost 3ft in it.

Volunteer previously tried to  loop the string around from out side the tank but failed then it was decided to get in to the tank, cordon the crock in corner with the steel plate partition's and then loop at the mouth and pull the crocodile out of the tank, the whole operation took almost 3hr time and effort of more then 25 persons, 7 Volunteers which include Hiren, Jigar, Pranav, Priyank, Nilesh, Dikansh, Jimmy, went in to tank to rescue the crock. This is the second record of crock near city and first at Hazira as it is believe to  have salty water area, the crocodile was 5.5ft MARSH CROCODILE and weight approximately 20kg. It is believed that this crocodile must have come in flood of last year 2006 when the water level in the area was 5ft, matter of question is did the crock survive for one yr in the tank and no body noticed it, well on checkup of crock was healthy, and approx estimated age was 2.5 to 3 years, as according the records last crock was spotted in 82 and then it was believed to extinct from river Tapi and one baby was rescued in the year 2004 by members in Kadod village which is also on river bank of Tapi, other croc was rescued in in the year 2007 at Chapprabhatha area of surat city, after this flood of 2006 call and sighting of crock are increasing as this is the second crock after flood this resemble the our river still have the remote population of crock which was not reported till date, so friends cheer up as the crock r there and still they r conserved in the own home river Tapi and as due to public awareness when ever people see them report us so that we can move them from human habitat to a safer place name of our volunteer who did this operation are Jigar, Hiren, Ram, Amit, Pranav, Goldy, Nilesh, Jimi, Daxesh, Dikansh, Brijesh.
