There are very few quality bird call cassettes, which address the birds of
India. Nature club Surat has published two volumes of bird call cassettes:.
Volume 1 featuring 58 species has been revised to include best quality
recordings. Volume 2 features 59 species. Volume 3 contains 58 Bird calls and
volume 4 contains 49 Bird Calls.
Volume 5 is nearing completion and will also be soon available. Nature club Surat has published a handy booklet, which covers 60 species of birds likely to be encountered by an early birdwatcher. All birds described in the booklet are illustrated in colour plates for easy identification. This inexpensive booklet is ideal introduction to bird watching for school children and adults alike.
There are lot of misconceptions about snakes. Snakes play an important role in the ecology and control of rodents. This book covers several species of snakes found in India. All snakes described in the book are photographed in colour plates for easy identification. The book is inexpensively available and is an ideal introduction to identification and familiarity with our lesser known reptiles. This handy list covers all the species observed by our birdwatchers in and around Surat.
